COACHING TESTIMONY

"Coach Octavio taught me the skills of working hard, even when you feel defeated. His strong work ethic was deep-seated into our weekly training practices, from strength and agility training to team-building exercises. He would always show up early and stay late to make the most of the time we had to practice, and would always provide an encouraging and welcoming environment for the players. I learned alot about the mental and physical demands of soccer through his guidance."

"Coach Octavio taught me how to push myself to be better on and off the soccer field. His dedication to improving our team physically and mentally is unmatched. I am forever grateful for Octavio’s lessons and anyone who has the opportunity to be on his team should consider themselves lucky."

"Octavio is a great leader and a great teacher. By example, he taught me the importance of working hard and putting 100% into everything and anything I do. He is a kind, honest, and hardworking man."

"Octavio was an amazing soccer coach, and he helped get my team our first ever undefeated season. He pushed us to be our best, and gave us great speeches before games about what it meant to be a team and work hard. Very grateful he was my coach!."

Octavio is a selfless giver in our community who has dedicated himself to coaching for many years. He shows consistent care and passion for developing the Youth in our community, and he's made a positive impact in my life by his presence. Thanks Coach!

This is to verify that Octavio Ossa was engaged by Acton & Boxborough Youth Soccer (ABYS) in Massachusetts, to work with our premier coaching program (Strikers United) – during the 2011.
Fall season as a paid coach.
Octavio also worked for a number of years in our core program, working with the travel teams, coaches and players as a volunteer coach.
I am writing in my capacity as the Director of Coaching for ABYS and our premier program Strikers United (see www.strikersunited.com) where Octavio worked under my supervision.
Octavio was employed primarily as the GU14 head coach, responsibilities included creating and delivering technical and tactical practice sessions and match play strategies with a focus on individual player development.
Octavio displayed a good aptitude for creating interesting and challenging sessions, appropriate to the age and skill levels of the players in this team, was well organized and motivated the players through his own enthusiasm.
In particular I observed that Octavio was keen to teach and educate the players in his charge, rather than just facilitate a practice session and all the players in the team developed under his tutelage.
He had a good rapport with the players who respected and responded to his leadership.
